Day of Mourning

April 28th

April 28 of each year is the annual Day of Mourning for those who have suffered and died in the workplace. Begun several years ago by the Canadian Labour Congress, it is now officially recognized by Federal and Provincial governments, and many municipalities. The purpose of observing such a day is to draw attention to the seriousness of the problem of unsafe and unhealthy workplaces. By promoting education and understanding, the Day of Mourning can catalyze efforts to win improvements in workplace conditions.

Please find a moment to think of those who have been injured or died at work and honour their memory by working safely.
